Individual case record
OpenEvidence Inc. v. Pathway Medical, Inc. et al. was brought by OpenEvidence, a Cambridge-based AI medical information company, against Pathway Medical, its Canadian competitor, and several individual defendants including Louis Mullie (Co-Founder and CMO), Jonathan Hershon St-Jean, Hovhannes Karapetyan, Eric Yamga, Khudhur Mohammed, and Vince Roy.
OpenEvidence alleged that the defendants illegally accessed its GenAI platform using stolen medical credentials, breached its Terms of Use, and conducted prompt injection attacks to extract proprietary system prompt code, constituting trade secret misappropriation and unfair competition.
The amended complaint included counts for (i) Misappropriation of Trade Secrets (DTSA), (ii) Computer Fraud and Abuse (CFAA), (iii) Breach of Contract, (iv) DMCA violations, and (v) Unfair Competition.
Following Doximity, Inc.’s acquisition of Pathway Medical, OpenEvidence voluntarily dismissed all claims without prejudice in 2025, prior to any judicial ruling.
