On 14 September 2025, Qatar’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry ordered a one-week closure of Talabat Services Company. The decision applies to Talabat's digital food delivery sector following repeated consumer complaints. The decision is based on Articles (7) and (11) of Law No. (8) of 2008 on Consumer Protection, outlining the information required for consumer use and safe handling of commodities and services and suppliers being required to display the price and other relevant information clearly to consumers. The decision highlights misleading product information, unlawful charges, and failure to provide guaranteed service. The closure is intended to enforce compliance with consumer protection rules and will remain in effect for one week, with further action possible if violations continue.
